Zoolander follows Derek Zoolander, a famous but dim-witted male model who has built his career around his signature look, “Blue Steel.” After losing the prestigious Model of the Year award to his rival Hansel, Derek begins questioning his place in the fashion world.
Things take a strange turn when fashion designer Jacobim Mugatu recruits Derek for what appears to be an exciting new modeling opportunity. Unbeknownst to Derek, Mugatu is secretly planning to brainwash him and use him to assassinate the Prime Minister of Malaysia, who is threatening the fashion industry’s interests.
As Derek gets pulled deeper into the bizarre conspiracy, he teams up with Hansel and journalist Matilda Jeffries to uncover the truth. Along the way, Derek struggles with his identity, his rivalry with Hansel, and the realization that there is more to life than being a famous model.
Filled with ridiculous fashion, exaggerated characters, absurd comedy, and unforgettable moments, Zoolander is a hilarious satire of the modeling and celebrity world.
